Privacy policy

Acrux Studios Pty Ltd(“we”, “our”, or “DMV Driving Hours Log”) operates the DMV Driving Hours Log mobile app and this website. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Information we collect

Account information. The app is built around signing in, so your drivers, supervisors, and logs can sync securely across devices. Sign-in uses an emailed verification code—we don't set or store a password.

Driver and session data. Information you enter directly: driver profiles (name, date of birth, and state), supervisor names, and driving session details (start and end times, notes, and day/night or weather flags).

Location (optional). If you enable location access, the app uses GPS while a drive is running to support distance, route context, and automatic night/weather detection. Location is off by default per drive if you deny or skip the permission, and you can change this at any time in your device settings.

Purchase information. Pro is a one-time purchase processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We don't see or store your card number; purchase state (active/restored) is managed for us by our in-app purchase provider.

Diagnostics and usage data. We use crash reporting and product analytics tools to see when the app errors out and how features are used, so we can fix bugs and prioritize what to build. These tools may collect device type, OS version, app version, and in-app events—not the contents of your driving logs.

Service providers we use

We rely on the following third parties to run the app. Each processes data under its own privacy policy, linked below:

  • Supabase — account authentication and database hosting for your synced drivers, supervisors, and logs.
  • RevenueCat — manages and validates the Pro purchase and restore-purchases flow across the App Store and Google Play.
  • Sentry — crash and error reporting so we can diagnose problems.
  • PostHog — in-app usage analytics.
  • Apple and Google — process your App Store / Google Play purchase.

How we use information

We use the information you provide to power the features you use directly—recording sessions, computing day/night and state-target totals, and generating PDF exports. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your driving log content (session notes, routes, supervisor names) for advertising.

Data retention

We keep your account and log data for as long as your account is active, so your history and totals remain available across devices. If you delete your account, your driver profiles, sessions, and supervisor data are deleted from our systems, aside from records we're required to keep for a limited period (for example, purchase records for tax or fraud-prevention purposes).

Your choices

Location. Turn location access on or off at any time in your device settings; the app still works for timing drives with it off.

Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and its data from within the app's settings. This removes your driver profiles, sessions, and supervisor data from our systems.

Restore purchases.Use “Restore purchases” on the paywall or subscription screen if you reinstall the app or switch devices.

Children's privacy

DMV Driving Hours Logis designed for teen drivers practicing with a parent, guardian, or other licensed supervisor, and driver profiles record a date of birth to apply the correct state rules. The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without a parent or guardian's involvement in setting up and using the account. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including relying on our providers' encryption in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

International data transfers

Our service providers may process and store data in the United States or other countries where they or their infrastructure operate, which may have different data protection rules than your own country.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
